The Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) supplementary exams for the Science, Humanities, Commerce and Home Economics groups, and certificate courses would start from Friday, December 30, an official said on Monday.
Meanwhile, the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) declared the results of the Supplementary Examinations-2011 of Secondary School Certificate for Science and General Science Groups on Monday.
The BSEK stated that 21, 709 candidates of the Science group were registered for the supplementary exams of which 20, 792 students appeared. Out of those who did appear, 12,059 passed giving a pass percentage of 58%. Out of the 12,824 males that gave the exam, three candidates received an ‘A-One’ grade, 94 received an ‘A’ grade and 831 candidates secured a ‘B’ grade.
Furthermore, out of the 7, 968 female candidates that appeared in the supplementary exams, four clinched an’A-One’ grade, 93 secured an ‘A’ grade and 1, 095 students received a ‘B’ grade. There were also 25, 978 candidates registered for General Science (Regular and Private) supplementary exams out of which a total of 24, 650 students passed. The report states that 928 male candidates were registered for Science General (Regular) group out of which 860 appeared and 521 passed, while there were 2,255 females candidates out of which 2,125 appeared and 1,206 passed.
Meanwhile for the Science General (Private) group there were 747 registered male students out of which 583 appeared and 431 passed, along with a total of 339 female candidates out of which 290 appeared and 158 passed.
